We are pleased to report the successful completion of Business English Communication workshops conducted by experts from the U.S. Consulate General Kolkata in Agartala, Tripura, and Aizawl, Mizoram this September. 30 women entrepreneurs, representing sectors such as food processing, fashion, handicrafts, and apparel, participated in these transformative sessions. The workshops provided critical training on essential business communication skills, focusing on delivering compelling business pitches to potential investors.

For many of the participants, this marked their first formal training in business communication, including vital areas such as crafting an elevator pitch, using impactful language, engaging an audience, and effectively utilizing visual aids. The sessions also covered strategies to structure formal business presentations and enhance confidence through voice modulation, eye contact, and body language.

The workshops emphasized practical applications, allowing participants to prepare and present their own business pitches, addressing key elements such as identifying the problem their business solves, presenting unique solutions, and clearly articulating their value propositions to investors.

These sessions, lasting over three hours, were designed to build communication confidence, especially for women entrepreneurs from underrepresented regions. By empowering them with these critical skills, the workshops have paved the way for participants to showcase their businesses on larger platforms and attract the necessary investments for growth.
