#mPowerWomen@Business Meet – Mizoram

The fifth #mpower women@business meet was successfully conducted at Aijal Club, Aizawl in Mizoram on 31^st October. In partnership with Mizoram Consultancy Group, the program was organized to understand the existing entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state, to help women led businesses get connected with mentors and experts from the state and outside. Juan Clar, Deputy Director of the American Center in Kolkata, highlighted the efforts of the Consulate in supporting women entrepreneurs and encouraging more women to participate at work. 22+ women entrepreneurs from sectors such as skin care, handicraft, agro-tech, food processing, medicinal products, essential oil participated and shared their entrepreneurial journeys, challenges and took advice from mentors and experts. 15+ stakeholders in women empowerment and business such as Women Studies Dept., Mizoram University, Indian Institute of Mass Communication, NEDFi participated in this day long meet. Experts representing RangDe (peer to peer lending platform), Association for Supply Chain Professionals, Chicken Wagon (start-up from Meghalaya) and Zoram Mega Food Park took sessions on using digital channels to expand business, market access, business strategies and infrastructure support. The Meet was highly appreciated by the entrepreneurs, faculty and students for bringing together experts from different regions and sectors and promised to be a part of an inclusive ecosystem supporting one another.
