#ArtistsMeetMarket: Women Weaving Wonders
We are delighted to launch Women Weaving Wonders, a new online series celebrating the skill and spirit of women artisans who keep traditional crafts alive. Each episode will bring viewers closer to the makers—women who transform heritage practices into sources of strength, livelihood, and pride.
The first session features the Sinduragoura Sabai Producer Group from Rangamatiya, Mayurbhanj. These artisans have carried forward the rich Sabai weaving tradition with remarkable dedication, turning simple grass into beautifully crafted baskets and everyday products. Through this live conversation, they will share how their journeys began, how collective efforts shaped their growth, and what this craft means to their lives and communities.
This series is an invitation to witness the stories behind the craft—stories of resilience, creativity, and women leading change from within their villages. In the coming weeks, more groups from different regions will join us, each bringing their unique heritage and experiences.
Join us for the inaugural session celebrating the women of Mayurbhanj and their timeless Sabai craft.
